West wall chinked

The west wall is finally chinked top to bottom. This means that with the most common north eastern wind, the house stays dry until now, the inside floor would get wet on that side if enough wind during rain.

Those ugly OSB boards in the front will cover up the piers of the foundation. That’s by presidential order: the president of the subdivision demands all piers covered. Guess he doesn’t like piers.

  1. Nice chinking – looks like it was a lot of work!
The stained framed windows look good!
Is that Antenna giving you 10MBps now?
Perhaps spray paint the OSB boards?

    1. Chinking is hard on the back, as you are constantly holding the gun up in the same position. The antenna is not yet helping much, but I did talk to their support and now have a reasonable speed, enough to watch netflix, do voice chats and do up and downloads. It will take a new firmware release before the optimal speed can be reached.

  2. You were lucky that President T. was off twitter for 11 seconds yesterday… he would have filed another building, construction order… Wait untill he sends in his local advisory board!

You know he is not that keen on foreigners. “Very dangerous people… extremely dangerous … fake people … terrorists.”
He also referred to the Dutch when he said: “”They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

PS Spray paint is an excellent suggestion!

    1. I have always and will always dislike Twitter for lack of nuance and think a president should not communicate anything of any importance in 140 or less characters.
Even when they do double to 280, that still does not allow for any type of in depth messages. Twitter is an open sewer. Like most sewers, it’s full of crap.

    1. Yeah, it’s starting to look good. Did you notice how the wood that was as brown as the logs has lightened quite a bit in 6 months?
To prevent the same thing happening on the other side I stained the east wall right after siding it.
